My first summer school experience was in Cambridge in 1984 when I worked as both a teacher and activity leader. That summer changed my life in so many positive ways and I’d like to think that I also helped to change the lives of my students from Denmark and Italy in an equally positive way. Up until the pandemic struck, I had spent every summer since 1984 working in some capacity in the international summer school sector in the UK and so you can imagine how difficult these past two summers have been for me and my colleagues. We have missed you, the students from all over the world who make our job the most satisfying and enjoyable that anyone could wish to do. But, we are back, and in the lovely market town of Bishop’s Stortford, close to my childhood home and only a short drive from Cambridge where this unforgettable journey began for me.
I am delighted and excited to be working with the Head of Bishop’s Stortford College, Kathy Crewe-Read and her excellent team to continue that journey on this wonderful campus and to positively change the lives of many more international students who are lucky enough to join our new summer school starting next July.
It will be my pleasure to welcome you to BSC International Summer School in the future.
