Bishop’s Stortford College is delighted to announce the appointment of Tony Evans as its Director of International Relations with immediate effect. The appointment comes on the back of the recent announcement that the College had engaged Tony’s company, Experio Summer Ltd to set up and run its new International Summer School for which Tony will also be responsible.
When asked about the rationale behind this latest appointment, Kathy Crewe-Read, Head of College said, “Given Tony’s experience across a variety of settings within international education and his extensive agent network, it just seemed an obvious fit for us to extend our partnership with him and Experio and to offer him this key role in the next stage of the College’s strategic development.”
Tony’s career in international education began in 1982 when he spent a year in Germany as an English Teaching Assistant as part of his undergraduate studies. Then after graduating in 1984, he continued with TEFL in Italy, France and the UK before joining the Summer School Operations Department at International House Hastings (part of the ILC Group). In the ‘90s, Tony held Director-level roles at IH, Sprachcaffe and Oxford International before establishing Experio Life in 2000, his own summer school consultancy and recruitment business which had long-standing and successful partnerships with Clifton College and Bromsgrove School right up until the pandemic struck.
Prior to accepting the offer, Tony resigned from his position as Sales & Marketing Director of Bristol International College, which he co-founded in 2019 but will remain on the Board in a non-executive capacity. When asked to comment on his decision, Tony said, “BIC is in very good hands and my fellow Directors fully support my move to Bishop’s Stortford College which we all agree is a once in a career opportunity.”
Tony will be the first point of contact for all international agent enquiries and can be contacted at: tony.evans@bishopsstortfordcollege.org
